Built upon an art-based research methodology combining theoretical study and creative writing, the project “Rhetoric and Values in Fiction: an Art-Based Research” engages with the production of a graphic novel as the subject of a reflexive analysis on technology ethics.
Relying on autoethnographic methods, the study describes the obstacles, challenges and strategies developed in order to mobilise ethical values concerning technologies in fiction (both visual and textual).
Broadly speaking, the research project aims to contribute to the development of novel perspectives on AI and robot ethics, as well as to deepen our understanding of the subtleties of ‘what the hand knows’.
