OFF Pattern

Affiliated with the research group of the Philosophy of Media and Technology group, “OFF PATTERN” is an art collective composed of creative writers and researchers, who focuses on alternative representations of technologies in fiction.

Drawing on the artistic expertise of its members as well as the philosophical approaches and arguments on new developments in technology, e.g. in artificial intelligence, and robotics, the collective aims to create original fictional narratives that depict technologies in a way that is relevant to society and its future in a global context.

The group’s narrative creations practice the art of contrasts, nuances and visibility, while cultivating the ability to break narrative patterns, and create diverse, unexpected and “off pattern” fictions.
